The role available is for a Software Security Specialist Sr – AI Security within PNC's Technology organization. This senior-level position is vital to advancing PNC's initiatives in Artificial Intelligence (AI) security, especially focusing on the secure design, development, and assessment of Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic systems used throughout the enterprise. The Software Security Specialist Sr will lead efforts to mature GenAI and Agentic policies, develop playbooks, and implement a risk-based approach that determines the appropriate level of review for AI use cases based on their potential security impacts. This role collaborates extensively across multiple departments, including Architecture, Automation, Data Science, Lines of Business, and dedicated Security teams, to ensure that new AI use cases are effectively reviewed and enabled.

Additionally, the specialist will work to align AI use cases with platforms that incorporate AI security controls, ensuring these controls complement the specific solutions being developed. A significant part of the role includes integrating security requirements into solutions upfront, providing coaching and direction to teams on how to meet these security controls throughout project lifecycles, and validating that security controls are properly implemented before products are released to production.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring over five years of expertise in application security, software security engineering, or similar areas, coupled with deep experience in securing AI and machine learning workloads, such as integration with large language models (LLMs) like Hugging Face, OpenAI, LangChain, and MLOps pipelines. A robust understanding of secure software design principles, code-level threat modeling, and AI-specific vulnerability classes is imperative. Familiarity with leading cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) and related AI/ML services (e.g., Bedrock, Foundry) is essential for this role, along with strong knowledge of modern identity, authentication, authorization, and data protection practices in AI contexts.
