Job Description

Snowbird is a premier mountain resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Renowned for its breathtaking views and challenging terrain, Snowbird attracts outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers year-round. This unique resort operates distinct summer and winter seasons, offering a vibrant and dynamic work environment for its employees. With a commitment to excellence, Snowbird values individuals who share a passion for the mountains and outdoor lifestyle. Known for its dedication to employee satisfaction, the resort provides a range of employment types including full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions to accommodate diverse needs and schedules.

The role of Line Cook at Snowbird is based at Aerie, a distinguished dining venue located inside the Cliff Lodge. This position is full-time and year-round, with a varied shift schedule that includes working on weekends and holidays. The pay rate for this role is competitive at $21 per hour, alongside valuable benefits such as immediate eligibility for medical benefits and 48 hours of sick time. The Line Cook plays a critical part in delivering an exceptional dining experience by coordinating individual kitchen stations and maintaining clear communication between front and back-of-house staff.

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for managing your assigned station with precision and efficiency, ensuring that all food is prepared according to the highest standards of quality, safety, and nutrition. Maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards is paramount, alongside adhering to health codes and proper food handling procedures. This position requires the ability to work well under pressure, multitask effectively, and react swiftly to resolve any issues that may arise during service. Collaboration with chefs and other kitchen personnel is essential to maintain a smooth workflow and exceed guest expectations consistently.

Working at Snowbird offers more than just a job; it provides a chance to be part of a passionate community immersed in an inspiring mountain setting. Employees benefit from unique perks such as ski passes, discounts across Snowbird's eateries, retail shops, lodging, and mountain school programs. Additionally, Snowbird supports employee well-being with available medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance plans, as well as a 401k retirement savings option. Free transportation services including UTA Bus, rideshare vans, and employee shuttle services further facilitate commuting to work. This role also demands a willingness to work occasional overnight shifts during road closures and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, standing for prolonged periods, bending, and enduring cold weather conditions.

Snowbird is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace, celebrating differences in thought, background, race, sexual orientation, gender, and belief. The resort upholds strict professional standards including drug and alcohol policies and expects all employees to adhere to conduct and appearance guidelines. Prospective candidates looking for a challenging yet rewarding career in hospitality within a vibrant mountain resort community are encouraged to apply and become part of Snowbird’s esteemed team.
