Within this dynamic context, TRUMPF is seeking a Smart Factory Automation Project Manager to join their team. This role is key to the delivery and success of advanced automation projects specifically focused on sheet metal processing equipment. The successful candidate will oversee all phases of project management from initial planning through installation and final customer acceptance. Acting as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, the Project Manager will be accountable for coordinating various departments including Engineering, Software, Service, Assembly, Training, and Applications to ensure seamless project execution.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and strong project management skills to guide complex projects through to completion. They will manage comprehensive project timelines that outline every critical task, responsibility, milestone, and due date involved. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the customer’s facility meets all necessary requirements to accommodate the equipment installation, including conducting pre-installation site visits and inspections. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities are crucial, as this role demands regular coordination meetings with stakeholders, prompt conflict resolution, and clear feedback loops between departments.

This position requires up to 75% travel, including overnight stays, to ensure proper oversight and support during installations at customer sites worldwide. The Project Manager will facilitate change management requests, assess their impact on project scope and schedule, and maintain transparent communication with all project participants. Furthermore, continuous identification and reporting of process improvement opportunities are expected, contributing to enhanced project outcomes and customer satisfaction.

TRUMPF offers a competitive salary range of $75,450 to $128,850, reflecting the high level of responsibility and expertise this role commands.
