Job Description

GE Aerospace is a world leader in the design, development, and manufacture of advanced aviation technologies. Specializing in jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft, GE Aerospace continues to push the boundaries of aviation technology. The company embodies a people-first culture that fosters innovation and collaboration, supporting ongoing LEAN transformations to optimize manufacturing processes and encourage continuous improvement. GE Aerospace firmly believes in making the world work better by advancing flight technologies and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that enhances creativity and performance.

The GE Aerospace manufacturing facility located in Lynn is an epicenter of aviation technology with a rich history dating back to 1942 when the first jet engines were born at this very site. Today, this site combines decades of expertise with modern, cutting-edge technologies in a 1.6 million square foot space that supports over 2,500 employees. The Lynn facility designs, produces, assembles, and rigorously tests both commercial and military aircraft engines and components. Over the past five years, more than $100 million has been invested into enhancing the facility’s capabilities and infrastructure, underscoring the company’s commitment to maintaining its leadership in aerospace innovation and manufacturing excellence.

Working at GE Aerospace’s Lynn facility means joining a team dedicated to sustainable aviation. The company is actively pursuing milestones in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and is deeply involved in community service and volunteerism initiatives, making a positive impact beyond the manufacturing floor. GE Aerospace values purposeful work that tackles global challenges such as sustainability in flight, and offers a supportive environment for professional growth, diversity, and collaboration. Employees benefit from merit-based rewards and incentives, a flexible work schedule without mandatory overtime, free onsite parking, and a comfortable, climate-controlled building.

This role involves working as a CNC Machinist responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture high-quality aerospace components. The machinist will work with a range of materials, including castings, forgings, screw machine blanks, turret lathe blanks, sawed blanks, and bar stock. Responsibilities include changing chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and setting tools, along with modifying CNC programs and offsets to ensure parts meet strict quality standards. The role supports Lean Manufacturing principles such as one-piece flow, standardized work, 6S methodology, setup reduction, and wet process lines, all contributing to smooth operations and efficiency.

Candidates will be involved in maintaining high housekeeping standards, ensuring safety and efficiency by keeping work areas clean and organized. This position requires making operational decisions based on experience and data, and engaging with a team-oriented environment where continuous learning and development are encouraged. GE Aerospace offers a competitive wage starting at $25.50 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings with company match, tuition assistance, paid parental leave, and more. Because this role involves working with export-controlled technology, only U.S. persons are eligible, and employees must provide proof of status prior to employment. GE Aerospace fosters an inclusive and equal opportunity workplace, committed to diversity and legal compliance in hiring practices. This CNC Machinist opportunity offers a career home for experienced or aspiring machinists eager to develop their skills in the aerospace industry while contributing to innovative and sustainable flight solutions.
