With a commitment to purpose, collaboration, and excellence, Amentum is dedicated to delivering outstanding results for its customers and communities worldwide. The company fosters an environment that values its people as its greatest competitive advantage, encouraging continuous learning, growth, and thriving careers. By providing diverse opportunities across multiple disciplines and markets, Amentum positions itself as a career destination for professionals who aspire to make meaningful contributions in their fields while advancing their expertise in challenging roles.
The role of Site Safety and Health Specialist at Amentum is a key position supporting the SLDA Project site in Parks Township, PA. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $90,000, designed to attract experienced safety professionals who can uphold and advance the company’s rigorous health, safety, and environmental standards. The Site Safety and Health Specialist integrates closely with the project team to monitor and ensure compliance with task-level Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements during various phases of fieldwork, including site remediation, facility operations and maintenance, and demobilization. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for onsite training needs, coordinating routine training for new personnel and refresher courses for existing staff, while maintaining comprehensive training records using spreadsheets, databases, and supporting documentation.
Further responsibilities include supporting the collection of worker exposure monitoring data through direct reading and integrated sampling techniques, documenting these measurements accurately. The Specialist will collaborate and align closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, Site Safety and Health Officer, and Health and Safety Manager to foster a robust safety culture across the project. As a visible and credible ambassador for health and safety, the incumbent will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to continual professional development and self-improvement. This role requires proactive engagement with the workforce, facilitating a safety culture where all personnel feel motivated and equipped to meet the organization's health and safety objectives.
Physical demands include intermittent activities such as sitting, walking, standing, bending, climbing, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. The work environment involves exposure to potentially challenging terrains, chemical protective clothing, respiratory protection, noise, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, and work at heights. Candidates must be physically capable of these demands and possess a valid driver’s license with residence near Pittsburgh, PA for commuting convenience.
Joining Amentum means becoming part of an organization that prioritizes employee well-being through comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits with 401(k) matching, educational reimbursement, parental leave, an employee stock purchase plan, and various insurance coverages. Amentum is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, adhering strictly to equal employment opportunity guidelines. This role offers not only a competitive compensation package but also the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to projects that have a significant impact on safety and operational excellence within multiple critical sectors.
