Job Description
Kroger is one of the world's largest grocery retailers, operating thousands of supermarkets and multi-department stores across the United States. With a rich history focused on quality, innovation, and community engagement, Kroger is committed to delivering exceptional products and services to customers. As a company deeply invested in operational excellence, Kroger emphasizes safety, integrity, and inclusion among its core values, making it a premier employer in the grocery and food supply industry.
This role centers around leading and managing a high-complexity manufacturing or logistics site within Kroger's vast supply chain network. The position requires a strategic and operational leader who is responsible for driving site productivity, safety, associate engagement, and overall performance while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in aligning business goals with operational execution through innovative processes, sophisticated data analytics, and collaborative leadership.
As the Site Leader, you will spearhead the implementation of site strategies, processes, and systems designed to boost operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This includes driving key initiatives like Full, Fresh, and Friendly practices that are instrumental in enhancing the customer experience. Your leadership will be pivotal in developing current and future leaders who can sustain and elevate the site’s success. You will manage workforce needs strategically to meet ambitious site objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and respect. Additionally, you will serve as the site representative for governmental agencies, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
The role also involves overseeing site operations related to safety, quality, and reliability, ensuring programs are effective and goals are met at all times. You will prepare and manage annual operating budgets, apply your knowledge of technologies and industry trends to maintain operational competitiveness, and collaborate with retail partners to optimize service delivery. Regular travel to other sites will be necessary to share best practices and ensure network alignment.
Ideal candidates for this position will have extensive senior operational leadership experience in logistics or manufacturing, preferably within the food industry, coupled with proficiency in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and HACCP certification. This position demands strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage conflict diplomatically. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills are essential to succeed. If you are a decisive, results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and team development, Kroger offers an excellent platform to advance your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
