The role of the Auto Body Shop Porter is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop’s interiors, production areas, and parking lots, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The Auto Body Shop Porter will also assist in detail areas when needed, run shop errands by driving company and customer vehicles, and perform minor building and equipment maintenance to support day-to-day operations.
This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the facility. The successful candidate will help protect vehicles from inclement weather and ensure the secure handling of vehicle keys, contributing to the smooth workflow of the auto body repair process. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- must be at least 18 years of age
- possession of a valid driver's license
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- physical ability to perform required tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds, and performing manual labor
- willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures
- reliability and punctuality
- ability to work in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- must have a valid driver's license
- strong communication skills to effectively communicate with the Classic Collision team and customers
- ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Job Duties
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the front office, including emptying of garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting
- help in detail department when needed
- maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area including daily emptying of waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted parts, assist in cleaning of spray booths, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
- drive company vehicles to run shop errands or pick up parts
- drive customer vehicles to pick up and deliver cars
- maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion
- perform minor equipment and building maintenance and repairs when necessary
- ensure all cars are protected from inclement weather
- secure all vehicles and ensure vehicle keys are separate and secure
- perform other duties as assigned required to successfully meet the needs of the business
