Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized coffeehouse chain known for crafting the world’s finest coffee and creating meaningful moments for its customers. Founded in 1971, Starbucks has grown from a single store in Seattle, Washington, to a leading coffee retailer with thousands of locations worldwide. The company is passionate about building a warm and welcoming space where every cup of coffee sparks connection between partners (employees) and customers alike. Starbucks’ commitment to quality, innovation, and community has made it a beloved brand known for its premium coffee beverages, food offerings, and customer experience.

This particular opportunity is for a Shift Supervisor role at Starbucks, a position that combines leadership, customer service, craftsmanship, and community engagement. As a shift supervisor, you will be entrusted with leading your coffeehouse team by example and ensuring every customer leaves with a memorable and positive experience. This role is essential in maintaining store operations, upholding Starbucks’ high standards for coffee and food quality, and creating an environment that fosters connection and inclusivity. The shift supervisor works to motivate and coach partners, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure the store operates smoothly during assigned shifts.

This role offers the chance to work in a supportive and growth-oriented environment where partners are empowered through continuous development experiences and industry-leading benefits. Starbucks values its partners’ career aspirations and supports their advancement through opportunities such as leadership training, tuition coverage for a bachelor’s degree through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan with Arizona State University, and access to other educational programs. The benefits package offered to partners includes comprehensive medical coverage, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, paid vacation, sick leave, and more. Starbucks also promotes financial well-being through 401(k) plans with employer match, stock purchase programs, and emergency savings incentives.

Working as a shift supervisor at Starbucks is not just about managing daily store operations but also about embodying the company’s mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit — one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time. This is a dynamic role that demands strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, teamwork, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Whether coaching partners or interacting directly with customers, the shift supervisor plays a crucial role in crafting the Starbucks experience.

Employment with Starbucks is on a flexible schedule basis, requiring availability during early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays to meet store operating needs. Starbucks is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to providing a respectful workplace free of discrimination and committed to offering reasonable accommodations to candidates with disabilities. Compensation is typically aligned with the geographic location and experience level and starts at the entry point of the range for the role. Starbucks’ commitment to its partners creates an environment where growth, connection, and meaningful work converge to make every shift rewarding and impactful.
