Job Description
Wonder is a dynamic and innovative food service company committed to making world-class food accessible to everyone, no matter where they live. As a mealtime platform, Wonder uniquely offers customers the flexibility to mix and match hundreds of dishes from over 20 exclusive restaurants in a single order. This approach provides an unparalleled variety, ensuring that every craving is satisfied with just one order. With options for dine-in, pickup, or delivery with zero delivery fees, Wonder is revolutionizing the dining experience by bringing together diversity, quality, and convenience. Behind the scenes, Wonder operates every aspect of the food experience in-house, from recipe development to the sophisticated technology systems that power their service, ensuring consistency and excellence at scale.
Wonder is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team in Hoboken. This key role supports overnight operations, with shifts generally falling between the late evening and early morning hours, such as from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The position is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, offering a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour premium for overnight shifts worked between midnight and 5:00 AM.
As a Shift Supervisor at Wonder, you will have a vital responsibility in overseeing kitchen operations to guarantee top-notch food quality and exceptional customer service. You will lead the restaurant team through all stages of service, including opening preparations, daily operational tasks, and closing duties. Collaboration is essential as you will work closely with the chef leadership team and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience that meets Wonder's high standards.
This leadership role requires a vigilant approach to operational management, including receiving and processing kitchen orders and deliveries according to company protocols. You will maintain ongoing communication with restaurant staff to manage inventory effectively, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure that stock levels meet the demands of service. The position also demands strict adherence to safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards throughout all back-of-house areas, consistently following cleaning schedules.
A part of your role will involve monitoring kitchen operational costs to stay within budgetary guidelines. You will ensure that all kitchen equipment is used safely, securely, and maintained in full working order. Conducting relevant briefing sessions with front and back-of-house staff before and after service will be part of your responsibilities, further reinforcing operational and quality standards.
Beyond operational tasks, you will embody a professional and ethical leadership style, fostering a positive and motivating work environment. Participation in training, coaching, and development programs for restaurant employees will be expected to help grow the team's skills and advance their careers within Wonder.
Wonder prides itself on building diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams, evaluating candidates based on their potential and commitment to excellence. The company also uses an Automated Employment Decision Tool to ensure objective hiring practices. Wonder offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; 100% employer-paid life insurance; a 401K retirement plan; employer matching for health savings accounts; holiday pay at 1.5 times the regular rate; learning and development opportunities; employee stock options; and employee discounts. Some benefits may vary by state and depend on hours worked.
Join Wonder and be part of a transformative food service company where you can develop your leadership skills, contribute to an innovative dining platform, and help make great food more accessible to all.
