At its core, Wonder is a mealtime platform that revolutionizes dining by combining the offerings of over 20 exclusive restaurants into a single order. With Wonder, customers enjoy the freedom to mix and match from a vast menu that ranges from tacos to Thai cuisine, all for a single delivery fee of zero. The meals are prepared fresh on-site by a professional culinary team and served hot, providing an unparalleled dining experience that emphasizes both quality and convenience. Beyond just food delivery, Wonder manages every aspect of the customer journey, including recipe development and the innovative technology behind their platform, ensuring consistency and variety at scale. This commitment to quality, variety, and accessibility drives Wonder's mission to make great food reachable to everyone.
The role of Shift Supervisor at Wonder is integral to maintaining the company’s high standards of food quality and customer service. This position involves overseeing kitchen operations during shifts to ensure smooth service and impeccable food preparation. Shift Supervisors are leaders who coordinate closely with the chef leadership and various departments to create a seamless dining experience for guests. The role offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities at a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour, with an overnight shift premium of $2.00 per hour for work falling between midnight and 5 a.m. Located in Jersey City, this position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage team members effectively, maintain safety and hygiene standards, and control operational costs. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring the kitchen equipment is safe and functional and that all operating and quality standards are upheld.
Moreover, the Shift Supervisor plays a vital role in staff development by participating in training and coaching activities to support employee growth. This leadership position demands a professional and ethical approach, requiring the supervisor to set an example for the entire restaurant team by abiding by company policies and fostering a positive work environment. The supervisor is also involved in logistical tasks such as receiving and processing kitchen orders and supplies, maintaining communication across teams to ensure stock availability, and conducting briefings before and after service. These responsibilities are critical to sustaining the high standards Wonder promises to its customers.
Wonder is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace and employs an Automated Employment Decision Tool (AEDT) as part of its fair hiring practices. This reflects the company's dedication to objective, equitable recruitment while upholding compliance with federal programs such as E-Verify for employment eligibility verification. By joining Wonder, candidates become part of a forward-thinking company that values teamwork, innovation, and customer satisfaction, while also providing meaningful benefits and opportunities for career advancement in the vibrant food service industry.
