Job Description
Red Robin is not your typical burger restaurant; it is a vibrant, high-volume, full-service restaurant chain recognized for its laid-back atmosphere and uniquely quirky vibe. Known for serving world-famous steak fries alongside signature burgers, Red Robin offers more than just a meal—it creates an experience filled with fun, connection, and a sense of belonging for all guests. The company is driven by a passion for unbridled hospitality and generosity, making every visit memorable. As a brand, Red Robin embraces diversity and fosters an environment where differences are celebrated, ensuring a welcoming space for everyone.
The position of Shift Supervisor at Red Robin offers dynamic and rewarding opportunities for candidates who are energized by the fast-paced and customer-focused nature of the restaurant industry. This role is crucial to the daily operations, particularly during scheduled mid and closing shifts, working under the guidance of exempt management. Shift Supervisors are entrusted with managing restaurant operations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food quality, and guest satisfaction, while also acting as brand ambassadors who uphold company values and brand equity. They serve as master resolvers in guest interactions, demonstrating a mastery in conflict resolution and a drive to optimize profits.
Those selected for this role undertake on-the-job training that equips them with specific management skills and leadership growth opportunities. The Shift Supervisor works closely with both team members and restaurant leadership to ensure an environment that supports team development and operational excellence. Beyond management duties, the role allows for versatility, as candidates may also take on other hourly positions they are certified in, depending on restaurant needs. The position is offered at an hourly pay rate ranging from $17.65 to $21.28, which reflects the level of responsibility and expertise required.
Red Robin supports flexible work schedules, reinforcing a healthy work-life balance, and offers enticing perks such as a 50% discount on food for the employee and 25% for family members, referral bonuses for bringing new talent into the team, and additional compensation and benefits designed to reward commitment and performance. The company also provides clear pathways for growth, making it an excellent place for individuals eager to advance their careers within the hospitality and restaurant management industry.
This role requires candidates to be at least 21 years old. Experience in a full-service restaurant is preferred, emphasizing the importance of familiarity with high standards in cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, and guest service. Successful candidates demonstrate business maturity, leadership skills, and a passion for people and the hospitality industry. Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and analytical skills are necessary to thrive as a Shift Supervisor. Proficiency in basic business math, accounting, and personal computer literacy is also important.
At Red Robin, the Shift Supervisor role is more than a job; it is a leadership opportunity that supports the restaurant's mission to deliver exceptional service and quality while fostering a fun and inclusive environment for guests and team members alike. The company values dependability, motivation, and a positive attitude—traits that are essential for driving the restaurant's success and creating a welcoming space where every guest feels valued. With competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans with company match, paid time off, and a robust employee stock purchase program, Red Robin is committed to rewarding the hard work and dedication of its team members. The company’s ongoing commitment to equal opportunity employment and passion for unbridled hospitality creates a workplace where everyone can thrive and grow.
