Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a world-renowned coffeehouse chain known for crafting some of the finest coffee globally and creating inviting spaces where communities can connect. Established with a mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit, Starbucks has grown into a global leader in the coffee industry, with thousands of locations worldwide. As a company, Starbucks is deeply committed to fostering a culture of warmth and belonging, where every individual feels valued and empowered. This commitment extends beyond serving excellent coffee to enhancing the experience of customers and partners alike through meaningful interactions and community engagement. Starbucks embraces diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities and accommodating individuals with disabilities, ensuring a respectful and supportive work environment.

The role of a Shift Manager at Starbucks presents a unique opportunity to lead with purpose while gaining valuable hands-on experience in managing a multi-million dollar retail business. As a Shift Manager, you will be at the forefront of the store operations, responsible for supervising a dynamic team, ensuring high-quality customer service, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This leadership position is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about personal growth and eager to advance their careers within the Starbucks Company. The position offers extensive mentorship and training, nurturing your development in areas such as team building, coaching, problem solving, and organizational management.

Starbucks is deeply invested in your career journey, providing industry-leading benefits that support both your professional and personal well-being. From comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance to basic and supplemental life insurance options, Starbucks ensures you and your family are well cared for. Additional benefits include short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, and paid time off, which accrues based on hours worked and varies by location. Recognizing the importance of education, Starbucks offers 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan in partnership with Arizona State University. The company also provides financial well-being tools, 401(k) retirement plans with employer match, stock purchase programs, and emergency savings incentives, promoting financial stability and growth.

Making an impact as a Shift Manager means not only delivering exceptional coffee experiences but also embodying the company’s values and creating a positive working environment where partners and customers feel connected and inspired. This role requires entrepreneurial spirit, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence in sales and customer service. With opportunities to influence the daily operations and long-term success of your store, you will prepare for future leadership roles within the company, armed with skills and insights that extend far beyond the coffee counter. At Starbucks, every shift is a chance to make a difference—both for customers and for your own career path.
