HMSHost believes in competitive wages, robust benefits, and recognition programs that celebrate the hard work and success of its team members. The company values positive energy, a passion for serving others, and a willingness to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings. As a manager-coach at HMSHost, employees play an integral role in guiding and inspiring their teams to deliver excellent service while maintaining a fun and motivating workplace.

The role of Manager I at HMSHost is designed to assist branch management in effectively executing quick-service restaurant (QSR) or similar restaurant operations. This position is pivotal to ensuring the restaurant is clean, adequately staffed, and operationally ready at all times. The Manager I follows company policies and procedures to make key management decisions and supports the leadership team with tactical execution of daily restaurant functions.

Managers at this level take on responsibilities such as completing opening, daily, and closing procedures, supervising associates across multiple units or points of sale, and participating in staffing decisions including hiring and terminations. They also play a crucial role in scheduling, ensuring that all shifts are staffed appropriately and that employees take mandated rest breaks. Visual presentation of the restaurant, equipment maintenance, cash handling, and adherence to wellness and safety protocols are all part of the Manager I’s duties.

Operating within a non-exempt Fair Labor Standards Act classification, this role typically reports directly to a General Manager, Director of Operations, or a multi-unit Food & Beverage Manager II. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, with the need to cover openings, busy meal periods, and closings to manage team activities and maintain operational excellence. This varied schedule ensures comprehensive oversight of restaurant operations across different shifts and business conditions.

The ideal candidate for the Manager I position must bring a minimum of two years’ experience in food and beverage, including cash handling and customer service, alongside at least six months of supervisory or leadership experience in a restaurant or production kitchen. Strong communication skills to interpret and deliver instructions, policy information, and customer interactions are essential. Candidates must also have a committed understanding of compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety standards, including HACCP protocols.

HMSHost offers a competitive pay scale for the position, ranging from $19.69 to $24.07 per hour, reflecting the importance of the managerial role within its operational ecosystem. The comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, holiday pay, meal and transportation benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, company-paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance programs, career growth opportunities, and a referral program with bonuses.

By joining HMSHost as a Manager I, individuals become part of a vibrant, inclusive company that values reliability, integrity, and teamwork. The company’s mission is to ensure everyone feels great at work and that travelers experience exceptional hospitality during their journeys.
