Job Description
Wingstop is a leading restaurant chain specializing in flavorful chicken wings with a mission to Serve the World Flavor. Founded with a passion to create a memorable dining experience, Wingstop has grown into a favorite spot for guests seeking bold, delicious flavors paired with outstanding service. The company prides itself on its unique culture that emphasizes fun, teamwork, and a sincere dedication to success. The environment at Wingstop supports both crew members and guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere driven by respect, recognition, and reward.
As a Shift Manager at Wingstop, you play a vital role in supporting the General Manager by ensuring smooth daily operations of the restaurant. This leadership position calls for a proactive individual who can manage the team effectively during the General Manager’s absence, maintaining consistent quality and service standards. You will be responsible for upholding the Wingstop culture amongst your fellow crew members, motivating the team to work efficiently while fostering a positive and energetic work atmosphere.
The role requires balancing various managerial responsibilities from staffing and people management to guest experience, financial oversight, and operational standards. You will manage team scheduling to ensure the restaurant is adequately staffed with skilled individuals capable of providing excellent service. Creating a safe restaurant environment for both team members and guests is a top priority. As a Shift Manager, it is your duty to instill a culture based on respect and collaboration that promotes team engagement and motivation.
In addition to people management, the Shift Manager is a key face of the Wingstop brand to guests. You must demonstrate an outgoing and positive personality by greeting guests promptly and ensuring they leave with a memorable and satisfying experience. Handling guest complaints courteously while escalating critical issues to the General Manager helps maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
Financial vigilance is also central to the role, requiring control over cash, inventories, labor, and food costs. You will actively contribute to increasing sales while managing expenses to keep the restaurant profitable. Operational management includes maintaining company standards for facility upkeep and ensuring effective communication flows from upper management to the team. Coaching and developing team members through available resources and tools will help create a high-performing restaurant team.
Essential skills for success in this role include strong guest service orientation, the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations, excellent organizational capabilities, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. The Shift Manager should be a natural leader, able to motivate others, manage multiple tasks with urgency, and foster a culture aligned with Wingstop’s mission. This is a rewarding opportunity for candidates passionate about hospitality, team leadership, and delivering superior guest experiences.
This position is available both full-time and part-time, offering flexibility in work schedules that include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work location is in person, providing hands-on management experience in a dynamic restaurant setting.
