Job Description

McDonald's, one of the world’s leading fast-food restaurant chains, has a rich history of serving quality food quickly and efficiently across the globe. Renowned for its iconic menu featuring items such as the Big Mac, French fries, and McNuggets, McDonald's operates thousands of locations worldwide, employing millions in roles ranging from crew members to management. At its core, McDonald's values teamwork, customer service excellence, and community involvement, striving to create an environment where both employees and customers feel valued and respected. This particular opportunity is with an independently owned and operated McDonald's franchise, which means you will be joining a team that focuses closely on local community needs while benefiting from the brand's globally recognized standards and reputation.

This role is for a Certified Shift Manager, a Level 5, non-exempt, full-time hourly position reporting directly to the General Manager. The Certified Shift Manager plays a crucial leadership role in the daily operations of the restaurant, managing shifts to ensure smooth workflow, stellar customer service, and adherence to food quality and safety standards. This position offers competitive pay ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, along with cash incentives. The scheduled hours are flexible, aimed at providing a balance between work commitments and personal life.

As a Certified Shift Manager, you will take proactive leadership during your shifts by coordinating and training crew members, ensuring that food safety regulations and restaurant policies are rigorously followed, and driving an exceptional guest experience. You will delegate tasks effectively to your team to meet shift objectives and support the broader goals of the restaurant. This involves maintaining high standards in kitchen operations, coaching and assisting with hiring decisions to build an effective team, and ensuring your shift proceeds in a manner that delights guests. Serving as a role model, you will uphold brand standards and company policies with integrity and enthusiasm.

Furthermore, the role demands a commitment to fostering a team-oriented environment. You will lead by example, encouraging collaboration and a positive work culture. The Certified Shift Manager must demonstrate strong communication skills, anticipate customer needs, and resolve issues quickly in a fast-paced setting. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about growth, learning, and contributing to a thriving workplace where excellence and safety are priorities.

Employees enjoy numerous benefits including paid sick leave, paid vacation, tuition reimbursement, access to company-paid healthcare including 24/7 virtual doctor availability, employee discounts, and rewards programs. This position uniquely positions you for advancement opportunities within the company, as McDonald's believes in promoting from within and supporting career development.

Working in this role means embracing diversity and inclusion, with McDonald's committed to equal opportunity employment. Reasonable accommodations are provided to candidates with disabilities to ensure they can successfully participate in the hiring process and perform essential job functions. As a franchise-operated business, employment matters such as hiring and supervision are managed locally, giving you a personalized workplace experience responsive to community and employee needs.

Joining as a Certified Shift Manager means becoming part of an iconic brand that strives to deliver great food and a welcoming atmosphere every day. If you’re driven by leadership, service excellence, and operational efficiency, this role offers a meaningful and rewarding career pathway in the vibrant food service industry.
