Job Description
Located in Tempe, Arizona, this Jimmy John's franchise is distinguished by its commitment to quality and exceptional customer service in the fast food industry. Unlike typical fast food franchises, this establishment prides itself on maintaining a culture centered around freshness, cleanliness, and care. The company positions itself not just as a purveyor of sandwiches but as a provider of a distinctive food experience that values speed and quality — captured in their unique branding as a "freaky F.A.S.S.T." franchise.
As a part of the Jimmy John's brand, this franchisee offers competitive wages and benefits and emphasizes employee growth, leadership development, and an enjoyable work environment. The franchise focuses on delivering a high-energy and engaging workplace where team members can thrive and advance in their careers. With an upbeat and motivating culture, employees are encouraged to embody the franchise’s core values, including commitment to quality, efficiency, and teamwork.
The role of Person in Charge is vital to maintaining the high standards that set this franchise apart. Acting as the team leader during shifts when management is absent, the Person in Charge ensures smooth restaurant operations from opening to close. The position requires managing a staff of about 3 to 15 employees and overseeing daily food preparation, sales, and customer service functions. This role demands exceptional organizational skills and a hands-on approach to supervision, from delegating tasks to assisting team members during busy periods.
In this dynamic responsibility, the Person in Charge is entrusted with monitoring inventory control measures such as ordering, receiving, storage, and issuing of food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies to minimize waste and shrinkage. Furthermore, this role involves assisting with administrative duties like daily and weekly paperwork and preventive maintenance of equipment and supplies, ensuring the store’s operational readiness.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform various physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally climbing or balancing, are essential for success in this role. The position requires the employee to function well in a moderately noisy environment and to use a range of sensory skills including vision and hearing. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are considered to enable all employees to fulfill their duties effectively.
Working at this franchise offers comprehensive benefits, including PPO medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and an employee meal program. Wages are competitive and based on experience, with plenty of opportunities for career advancement — from Person in Charge to assistant manager, general manager, and beyond. The company offers structured career development programs encompassing mentorship and support, facilitating leadership growth and the possibility of advancing to area manager or director of operations roles.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and willing to work flexible hours that may include overtime, holidays, and weekends. Physical endurance to work 40 to 50 hours weekly is necessary. The company warmly invites applicants eager to demonstrate their commitment and capabilities, offering them a chance to join a fast-paced, team-oriented workplace dedicated to excellence in fast food service.
If you are passionate about food service, ready to lead a motivated team, and aspire to grow within a thriving franchise, this Person in Charge position at Jimmy John’s in Tempe, AZ, could be your ideal career opportunity.
