The role of the Shift Lead at Black Rifle Coffee Company is a pivotal position within the store's operational structure. The Shift Lead works closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of store operations during their scheduled shifts. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the team, supervising daily activities, and executing operational procedures in alignment with company standards. The Shift Lead is tasked with promoting exceptional customer service, managing store inventory, overseeing employee performance, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the store environment.

Shift Leads act as ambassadors of the Black Rifle Coffee Company culture, demonstrating leadership by example and fostering a positive work environment that motivates team members to succeed. They provide real-time coaching to associates, ensuring that all company policies and procedures are adhered to, with a strong emphasis on delivering an outstanding customer experience. Additionally, the Shift Lead assists with scheduling, including organizing breaks and meal times for floor staff, further ensuring operational efficiency and employee well-being.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in QSR, customer service, retail, or hospitality environment
  • 2+ years of retail supervisory experience preferred
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • ability to multitask and prioritize work of self and others
  • experience with cash handling, safety and security
  • demonstrated track record of coaching and developing others
  • competency in written and verbal communication
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule (early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays)
