Job Description

Selig Parking is a reputable parking management company that operates across various locations, providing comprehensive parking solutions that emphasize exceptional customer service and efficient vehicle management. At Selig Parking, employees are valued for their contributions toward creating seamless and welcoming experiences for guests and clients. The company operates in highly dynamic environments, from hotels to event venues, and focuses on maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer engagement. One of the notable locations served by Selig Parking is the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel, a prominent and upscale hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, known for its comfortable accommodations and excellent guest services. The Sheraton Memphis Downtown is part of the global Marriott International group, offering business and leisure travelers a central and luxurious place to stay with convenient city access and modern amenities. Employment at this site provides candidates with an opportunity to work in an energetic hotel environment with a diverse guest demographic, ensuring exposure to a wide array of hospitality experiences.

The full-time Valet position at Sheraton Memphis Downtown is a pivotal role centered around delivering outstanding hospitality and guest service during the second shift from 3 PM to 11 PM. This role comes with a competitive wage of $8.00 per hour plus tips, recognizing the importance of excellent valet attendants who serve as the first and last point of contact for hotel guests arriving and departing by vehicle. The Valet is responsible for greeting guests warmly within 30 seconds, parking and retrieving vehicles swiftly and safely, as well as providing courteous directions and information upon request. This job demands a positive attitude, agility to handle vehicles carefully, and a commitment to upholding the company's and Sheraton’s brand standards. Working outdoors is a significant part of the role, as attendants will regularly encounter varying weather conditions and must maintain professionalism in all circumstances. In addition to driving responsibilities, Valets also assist guests with door handling and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the parking area.

Candidates for this role must be flexible and willing to work a rotating schedule, including weekends, to meet the demands of hotel guest arrivals and departures. Prior customer service experience of at least one year is preferred, alongside strong communication skills and a friendly disposition. The ideal valet team member exemplifies "Aggressive Hospitality," which means being proactive, enthusiastic, and dedicated to making every guest’s experience memorable and unique. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and all applicants must hold a valid driver’s license in the relevant state. Safety and security are emphasized through background checks and adherence to company and AAA parking uniform standards. The position requires physical stamina to stand and move during shifts, exceptional visual acuity for vehicle handling, and the ability to understand and follow instructions accurately.

This comprehensive role offers growth potential within the hospitality and parking management field and fosters a team-oriented work culture where employees are appreciated and rewarded for their efforts. Join Selig Parking’s professional valet team at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown to build your career in customer-focused service while enjoying a dynamic work environment in a well-known hotel setting.
