The Event Assistant role at Six Flags New England is a critical position responsible for coordinating and executing group sales, marketing, and sponsorship events. Starting at $18.00 per hour, this role is designed for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual eager to contribute to the successful operation of large-scale gatherings such as corporate outings, youth programs, and themed group events. As the vital communication link between clients, sales teams, and park departments, the Event Assistant ensures seamless event execution from post-contract reservations through onsite logistics and client service.

This role requires hands-on leadership in managing day-of event activities, organizing support teams, and proactively addressing client needs to guarantee a smooth and memorable experience. Assisting with sponsorship activations and marketing presence within the park aligns with strategic partnerships and ensures visibility per national and regional agreements. The Event Assistant is also responsible for clear communication with internal park teams, maintaining clean and safe event venues, and performing essential clerical tasks including correspondence with groups of 100 or more attendees.

Accuracy and organization are key as the role involves managing sales materials, ticket orders, invoicing, and payment tracking, along with maintaining detailed client files and contact databases. The successful candidate must anticipate potential issues within sales operations and provide solutions, while also showing flexibility to support other department needs. Adherence to all Six Flags New England policies and passion for delivering exceptional client experiences rounds out the responsibilities of this dynamic position. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in event coordination or customer service preferred
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Capable of meeting physical job demands including walking, standing, and lifting
  • Age 18 or older

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
  • Ability to pick up on and learn systems for the role
  • Knowledge of working with Salesforce (preferred, but not required)
  • Able to deal with clients over the phone and through email in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Excellent record-keeping and organization
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, including walking long distances, standing for long periods of time, lifting, working at heights, etc.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
  • 18 years old or older

Job Duties

  • Lead day-of event execution for corporate outings, youth programs, and other group events, managing support teams, and addressing client needs
  • Support on-site sponsorship activations or marketing events, ensuring in-park visibility aligns with national and regional agreements, and provide event documentation for recaps
  • Communicating with park teams to ensure the successful execution of events
  • Preparing and maintaining a clean and safe event area
  • Clerical functions and client communication, including email and phone call correspondence with groups of 100+ coming to the park
  • Assisting with fulfillment of general sales material requests, ordering tickets, invoicing, and ensuring receipt of payment
  • Maintaining accurate files and records for all clients
  • Assisting with group information and contact database input
  • Anticipating and troubleshooting errors under the whole sales umbrella
  • Assisting in other areas of the Department
  • Enforcing all Six Flags New England policies
  • Performing other duties as assigned or necessary to support Six Flags New England
