The role of Bartender at The Seville is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for individuals passionate about the art of bartending and delivering exceptional customer service. The bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, with attention to detail and adherence to established recipes and procedures, ensuring every drink meets the high standards set by LDV Hospitality. This position involves direct interaction with guests as well as collaboration with serving staff, requiring a blend of technical skill, knowledge of drink preparation, and outstanding interpersonal abilities.
The Bartender must be knowledgeable about a comprehensive range of beverages, including signature cocktails and wines served by the glass, and must be adept in using various stemware and glassware correctly. A critical aspect of the role is to engage with customers warmly and attentively, maintaining eye contact, respectful conversation, and a smiling demeanor. Safety and cleanliness are paramount; the bartender must keep the bar area organized and strictly adhere to safety standards, health regulations, and liquor control board guidelines.
This position demands flexibility as it involves working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, often requiring standing, walking, and manual dexterity for extended hours. Candidate must be physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds regularly and managing the physical demands of bending and stooping. Job Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years high volume bartending NYC or comparable market
- A high school education is required
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
- Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff in the Bartender position
- Ability to withstand a high volume of business and the movement, noise and temperature extremes associated with that volume
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
Job Qualifications
- Must have flexible availability
- Deliver timely and courteous service to LDV Hospitality guests in adherence to company policies and procedures
- Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
- Must have basic math skills
- Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
- Strong customer service background
- Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations
- Working knowledge of drink recipes and preparation
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Attendance to company meetings and training seminars as required
- Responsible for training and developing new employees to LDV Hospitality's standards of service
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by management
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare all drinks as ordered to the standards set forth by LDV Hospitality
- Adept knowledge of all signature drinks and wine by the glass
- Use of various stemware and glassware aligned to correct drink as per LDV Hospitality standards
- Uses LDV standards of engagement for all service techniques
- Describe various food dishes to customers
- Serves food to guests when necessary that order from the bar
- Keeps entire bar area clean and organized
- Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling
- Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
- Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Department of Health (DOH) and appropriate Federal/State Liquor Control Boards
- Performs other related activities as assigned by management
