The role of Host at 71 Restaurant in Cliff Lodge at Snowbird is a part-time position designed for individuals eager to contribute to memorable dining experiences. This position demands flexibility, as shifts vary based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. As a host, you will serve as the first point of contact for guests, warmly greeting and seating them while maintaining an efficient flow throughout the dining area. The role also requires excellent communication skills to liaise with servers and management, guarantee guest satisfaction, and assist in resolving any concerns. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- Food handler permit required
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to operate dish machines and handle chemicals safely
- Must have judgment within policy guidelines without supervisory approval
- Capable of initiating activities within job description and understanding other Snowbird operations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Food handler permit
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Understanding of hospitality and customer service operations
Job Duties
- Graciously greet and seat guests
- Adjust flow of guests with a waiting list
- Call out name and party number when table becomes available
- Once guests are seated, gently pass out menus and state the name of their server
- Review each table for proper presentation before guests are seated
- Talk with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their dining experience
- Respond to complaints and help resolve issues with appropriate team members
- Assist bussers and/or servers when appropriate
- Communicate with servers and managers
- Thank guests as they exit the restaurant
