This unique mountain destination caters to outdoor enthusiasts year-round, offering exceptional skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and other recreational activities across distinct summer and winter seasons. Snowbird is celebrated not only for its natural beauty but also for its commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences through a dedicated and passionate team of employees. The resort provides a variety of employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and multi-seasonal positions, accommodating a wide range of career paths within the mountain hospitality and recreation industry.
The General Manager position at SeventyOne Restaurant and Lounge, situated inside The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, is a full-time, year-round role that involves comprehensive leadership and management responsibilities. SeventyOne serves as a premier dining venue within the resort, focusing on delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences in a sophisticated and welcoming environment. The General Manager, in partnership with the Outlet Executive Chef, plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of restaurant and room service operations. This leadership role is instrumental in ensuring that guest experiences consistently exceed expectations while achieving financial targets and maintaining a high-performance culture. The position demands a proactive approach to team development, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance, setting the stage for sustained success.
In this role, the General Manager leads both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, coordinating closely with culinary leadership to maintain the highest standards of food quality, beverage offerings, and hospitality service. Responsibilities include driving financial performance through effective revenue growth strategies, labor management, cost controls, and inventory oversight. The General Manager is also responsible for maintaining adherence to all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices. Fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture is paramount, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, recognition, communication, and continuous professional development. The role includes hands-on management of daily operations, special events, and peak service periods, ensuring seamless coordination that maximizes both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Additional duties encompass recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing staff members, establishing growth opportunities, and succession plans to cultivate future leadership. The General Manager strategically partners with various resort departments, including Group Sales and senior Food & Beverage leadership, to enhance restaurant utilization and respond effectively to operational challenges specific to the resort environment. A visible leadership presence on the floor and active guest engagement are essential components of the position, facilitating rapid resolution of issues and reinforcing service excellence.
Candidates for this role are expected to possess a strong foundation in hospitality management, with a preference for an associate's degree or equivalent experience. Proven leadership ability in high-volume restaurant or food and beverage operations, financial acumen, and proficiency with industry-related software and certification requirements are critical for success. The role requires flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, as well as the endurance to operate under mountain resort conditions. Snowbird’s commitment to safety, diversity, and a positive employee culture further enrich the work environment, making this an exciting and rewarding opportunity for hospitality professionals who are passionate about mountain life and exceptional guest service.
