Gaylord Hotels is a premier hospitality brand under the Marriott International umbrella, widely recognized for its exceptional meeting spaces, extensive event programming, and dedication to delivering unparalleled guest experiences. Situated in Kissimmee, Florida, Gaylord Hotels offers guests a unique blend of comfort, luxury, and innovative services that distinguish it from traditional hotel chains. As part of Marriott International's portfolio, Gaylord Hotels benefits from the global reach, resources, and commitment to quality that Marriott is known for, making it a leading destination for visitors seeking both leisure and business accommodations. The establishment prides itself on fostering a workplace environment that values diversity, inclusion, and professional growth. Marriott International's commitment to equal employment opportunities ensures that all associates, regardless of background, are welcomed and supported, promoting a culture where the diverse talents and perspectives of team members are celebrated and leveraged.
The current role available is an essential non-management position within the Food and Beverage and Culinary department, specifically designed for individuals who are passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest service excellence. This role is critical in supporting the behind-the-scenes operations that contribute to the smooth running of events and guest services. The position offers a full-time schedule located on-site at 6000 W Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, Florida, with a competitive hourly wage of $15.00.
As a member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing the final breakdown of functions by thoroughly cleaning and organizing event rooms and properly storing equipment. This includes comprehensive closing duties such as securing reusable goods, locking doors, and ensuring all event materials are appropriately dismantled and stored. The role requires setting up and restocking work areas consistently, monitoring cleanliness and sanitation standards diligently throughout the work shift, and managing linen logistics by transporting dirty linens to designated cleaning areas, separating napkins from tablecloths, and restocking shelves with clean linens. A clean-as-you-go approach is emphasized to maintain a high standard of hygiene and order at all times.
In addition to operational tasks, the role involves supporting other departments as needed to ensure optimal service delivery to guests, highlighting the collaborative nature of the work environment at Gaylord Hotels. The position demands adherence to company safety and security policies, prompt reporting of incidents or unsafe conditions, and active participation in safety training and certification programs to maintain a secure working environment.
The ideal team member will present a professional and clean appearance at all times, uphold confidentiality guidelines, and protect company assets responsibly. Meeting and exceeding guest service expectations by welcoming, acknowledging, and assisting guests with genuine appreciation is a core aspect of the role. Effective communication skills are vital, requiring clear and professional interaction with coworkers and guests alike.
Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, lift and move objects of varying weight (up to 50 pounds independently and heavier with assistance), and navigate diverse surfaces such as stairs and ramps with flexibility and agility. The role also requires fine motor skills for handling equipment and materials, as well as the capability to reach overhead and bend below the knees frequently.
This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to begin or advance their career in hospitality, particularly within a dynamic environment that values teamwork, quality, and guest satisfaction. While no prior related work or supervisory experience is required, a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Gaylord Hotels and Marriott International provide a supportive platform for professional growth, emphasizing continuous improvement and career progression within their extensive brand network. Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a global team dedicated to delivering outstanding hospitality and memorable experiences to guests.
