Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is a global technology and professional services company that delivers advanced technology solutions and mission services to major U.S. government agencies, defense, and intelligence communities. With a workforce of over 26,000 experts operating in more than 50 countries, GDIT focuses on harnessing the power of technology to create immediate value and provide innovative solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development. Known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and advancing national security, GDIT partners with government agencies to deliver mission-ready capabilities that address some of the most complex challenges facing the nation today.

This position is an exceptional opportunity to serve as a ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME) within a prestigious national security program for a high-level government client located in Arlington, Virginia. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring dedication, technical expertise, and collaboration. As a ServiceNow SME at GDIT, you will hold a pivotal role in advancing the client's ServiceNow migration efforts. Your responsibilities will involve leading the translation and mapping of legacy business workflows into the ServiceNow platform — ensuring alignment with ServiceNow's architecture and best practices. You will work hand-in-hand with business units to seamlessly port critical functionalities from legacy applications into the ServiceNow environment, optimizing business logic and overall efficiency.

Your role will not only be technical but also strategic as you analyze current ServiceNow platform implementations to identify system limitations or gaps. You will propose and implement custom workflow enhancements that improve user experience and organizational efficiency. In addition, your expertise in database management will be essential for maintaining backend databases associated with ServiceNow, ensuring data integrity and optimizing performance. Your skillset in SQL and T-SQL for query optimization and data migration will directly support mission-critical operations.

This position requires proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript used for ServiceNow scripting (client scripts and business rules), with additional experience in PowerShell or Python considered advantageous. Since this role supports applications deployed in on-premises server environments, a working knowledge of maintenance, patching, and upgrade processes specific to locally hosted systems in secure or regulated contexts is imperative.

Candidates must hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility due to the sensitive nature of the work environment. A mandatory CompTIA Security+ certification is required, while ServiceNow System Administrator or Developer certifications are highly desirable. Moreover, experience migrating and supporting SharePoint Server 2013 and 2019, with a deep understanding of their differences and seamless integration, will be a valuable asset.

At GDIT, we understand that our people are our greatest differentiator. As part of our team, you will have access to extensive professional development opportunities, including paid education, certification programs, and career growth through our dedicated internal mobility team. The work schedule is flexible, supported by a comprehensive wellness package and a 401K plan with company match. Employees also benefit from paid vacation, holidays, and access to cutting-edge technologies that empower continuous learning and skill advancement.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $127,500 to $172,500, though the exact compensation will depend on experience, geographic location, and contractual stipulations. GDIT is committed to fostering a safe, innovative, and inclusive workplace where your contributions directly impact the safety and security of the nation while advancing your career in a meaningful and rewarding way.
