Job Description

The Michaels Companies Inc. is a leading retail destination specializing in arts, crafts, framing, floral, and home décor products across North America. With over 1,300 stores located in 49 states and Canada and a robust online presence through Michaels.com and Michaels.ca, Michaels has established itself as a premier destination for creativity and celebration. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, the company also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise. Michaels is committed to fueling the joy of creativity and providing excellent customer experiences in every location it serves.

At the core of Michaels' mission is a vibrant, customer-centric culture that values creativity, inclusivity, and teamwork. The company offers opportunities for personal and professional growth in a dynamic retail environment geared toward creating memorable shopping experiences. Employees at Michaels are empowered to engage with customers, provide expert assistance, and foster community engagement through creative products and solutions.

The Store Team Member role at the Syracuse-Camillus, NY location is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $18.80. This role is essential in ensuring a positive and seamless shopping experience for customers by delivering friendly customer service and maintaining a well-organized store environment. Team Members at Michaels perform a variety of tasks, from customer engagement and checkout operations to merchandising and inventory management. Team Members are trained to help customers locate products, educate them on store programs such as the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, and assist with omni-channel services like Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). The position also involves active participation in maintaining stock levels, organizing planograms to optimize product presentation, supporting shrink and safety programs, and adhering strictly to company policies and procedures. Michaels emphasizes respect, positivity, and compliance, encouraging its employees to model these values and positively represent the organization.

Working in this role requires physical stamina, including the ability to remain standing for long periods, lift heavy boxes, and safely access high shelves using ladders. The working environment is primarily a public retail store with climate-controlled public areas while some stock rooms and outdoor areas may vary. Hours of work may include nights, weekends, and early mornings to support store operations and customer demand.

Michaels values the contributions of all team members and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations, ensuring an inclusive and supportive workplace. The company offers comprehensive benefits for both full-time and part-time employees, including health insurance coverage (medical, dental, and vision), paid time off, tuition assistance, generous employee discounts, and more.

By joining Michaels, employees become part of a community dedicated to creativity, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
