Job Description
Total Wine & More is a leading retailer specializing in a wide range of wines, spirits, and beers. Known for its vast selection and commitment to customer service, the company prides itself on offering both value and expertise to its customers. As one of the largest independent fine wine and spirit retailers in the United States, Total Wine & More operates numerous stores across the country, each dedicated to providing an exceptional shopping experience for wine, beer, and spirit enthusiasts. The company culture emphasizes a strong team dynamic, product knowledge, and customer satisfaction.
The role of Store Team Member, also referred to internally as Service Team Member, is essential to maintaining and enhancing the company brand through outstanding customer service. Team members actively engage with customers, providing personalized assistance that not only supports sales but also builds lasting customer relationships. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every store operates smoothly, offering an inviting atmosphere, well-organized inventory, and adherence to safety and legal standards.
This position offers both part-time and full-time employment opportunities with responsibilities primarily centered around sales but may also include merchandising, front-end duties, and other tasks as assigned by store management. Compensation is competitive and respects local minimum wage requirements, ensuring fairness and consistency.
In this role, you will be responsible for maximizing product inventory through processing freight, organizing and distributing inventory, pulling and stocking merchandise, and creating appealing in-store displays. Giving customers exceptional service by greeting and engaging them, sharing product knowledge (including participation in wine, spirits, and beer training), and informing them about promotions and loyalty programs are key aspects of the job. The Store Team Member also helps maintain safety and cleanliness standards throughout the store and ensures strict compliance with all applicable laws regarding alcohol sales to uphold a safe shopping environment.
Team members may occasionally be assigned additional responsibilities such as supporting digital business operations by fulfilling online orders, assisting with curbside and in-store pickup, and even making deliveries when required. Physical demands include the ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, lift heavy cases and pallets, and navigate ladders safely. Candidates must be at least 21 years old to comply with legal requirements related to alcohol sales.
Beyond the daily tasks, Total Wine & More invests substantially in its team by offering comprehensive benefits and support programs. These include paid time off, generous store discounts, health care options including medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans, as well as financial benefits like 401(k), health savings accounts, and pre-tax commuter benefits. The company also provides disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, pet insurance, critical illness and accident insurance, and discounted home and auto insurance. Educational benefits such as college tuition assistance and career development opportunities through product training and consumer classes are also part of the employee experience.
Total Wine & More values its employees as its greatest asset and is deeply committed to their health and well-being. This is reflected in their Total Rewards program, which provides extensive resources and tools to support employees across various aspects of their personal and professional lives. The company is an equal opportunity employer, ensuring no discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristics. Reasonable accommodations are provided throughout the employment process to support all applicants. Total Wine & More is also a Drug Free Workplace.
