The community is designed to be a neighborhood where both residents and staff feel valued, supported, and part of a tight-knit family. Each day, Atlantic Shores commits itself to creating a clean, uplifting, and vibrant atmosphere that enhances the quality of life for everyone who lives and works within its campus.
At Atlantic Shores, the housekeeping team plays a crucial role in maintaining the community's high standards of cleanliness and comfort. As part of this team, the Porter position is essential in creating a positive environment by ensuring that all common areas are spotless, safe, and inviting. Full-time employees in this role enjoy a competitive hourly wage that reflects their experience, comprehensive benefits packages including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more, as well as generous holiday and overtime pay. The commitment to employee well-being extends to tuition reimbursement programs and educational partnership discounts, demonstrating Atlantic Shores' investment in the career growth and personal development of its team members.
The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all common areas such as the lobby, library, harbor lounge, restrooms, swimming pool, exercise rooms, arts and crafts room, administrative offices, elevators, employee lounge, and outdoor spaces surrounding entrances. This responsibility includes tasks like dusting, sweeping and vacuuming floors, polishing brass and stainless steel fixtures, cleaning glass surfaces, and inspecting the building daily for any issues that might require attention. The Porter works closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor to prioritize work and manage responsibilities effectively, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation that ensures all community spaces meet the high expectations of residents, staff, and visitors. Experience as a floor technician is preferred but not mandatory, highlighting the community's openness to train dedicated candidates.
This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals who thrive in hands-on roles and take pride in their work, understanding the impact of a clean and orderly environment on overall resident satisfaction and well-being. Working Monday through Friday with rotating weekend duties, Porters enjoy a stable work schedule and supportive work culture. Atlantic Shores champions a mission of service to others, which resonates through every aspect of employment. Joining this welcoming neighborhood means becoming part of a legacy of quality care and commitment to excellence, where every contribution, no matter how small, helps create a thriving community for its older adults.
