Job Description

AutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, known for offering innovative products, exceptional services, and comprehensive automotive solutions that empower customers to make informed decisions tailored to their needs. With an extensive nationwide network of dealerships, AutoNation provides a wide variety of new and pre-owned vehicles, customer financing options, parts, and expert maintenance and repair services. Their strong brand presence is complemented by a commitment to social responsibility through initiatives like the DRV PNK mission, which has raised over 40 million dollars for cancer research and treatment by partnering with cancer charities nationwide. AutoNation fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace environment, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to join their team and contribute to a culture of belonging, innovation, and teamwork.

The Service Porter role at AutoNation revolves around ensuring the smooth operation of vehicle maintenance and service activities at the dealership. This position primarily involves preparing customer vehicles for delivery by performing tasks such as assisting with service write-ups, tagging vehicles appropriately, and removing protective coverings and ID tags. A Service Porter is also responsible for inspecting vehicles for stains, debris, and damages before returning them to customers and reporting any damage observed. Additionally, the role includes transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed, handling deliveries, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle lot according to dealership standards. This helps present vehicles in a neat and attractive manner, enhancing the customer's dealership experience.

Additional duties include cleaning both the interior and exterior of new and used vehicles, returning vehicle keys to service consultants, picking up and delivering vehicles to and from storage areas, and testing batteries of customer vehicles. The Service Porter also supports shop maintenance by assisting with shop clean-up and deliveries as needed. This position demands individuals who demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to safety when handling machinery and vehicles, and a valid driver's license to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles safely. AutoNation offers a competitive wage ranging from 16.00 to 21.35 dollars per hour, along with a robust benefits package.

Working at AutoNation as a Service Porter means joining a reputable and forward-thinking company that values the contribution of each team member while promoting work-life balance and employee wellness. The company supports its employees with comprehensive insurance plans including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as maternity benefits. Employees can also take advantage of associate purchase programs and discounts on new and pre-owned vehicles, vehicle services, parts, collisions, accessories, and AutoGear products. Exclusive savings are accessible through the YouDecide platform offering offers from top providers and retailers. The Service Porter position is ideal for individuals seeking an entry-level opportunity in the automotive industry, offering growth potential within a dynamic and supportive environment committed to positive community impact and employee satisfaction.
