Job Description

Knudtsen Foothills Lincoln Mazda is a family-owned and operated automotive dealership serving the Spokane and Post Falls communities. Specializing in the sale of new and used vehicles, Knudtsen also offers full-service body shops and dedicated service departments, along with genuine Mazda and Lincoln parts. Recognized for its commitment to community and customer relations, Knudtsen fosters a team-oriented atmosphere where employees, customers, and the community are highly valued. This ethos not only helps sustain a strong local presence but also strengthens the dealership's reputation as a trusted and reliable name in automotive retail and service.

The Service Porter position at Knudtsen Foothills Lincoln Mazda is a vital entry-level role within their busy service department. This role offers an hourly wage of $18.00 and focuses on providing robust support to the service technicians and department operations. As a Service Porter, candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and dependability, contributing to a seamless service workflow. The responsibilities include moving and parking vehicles around the dealership premises, setting up and maintaining workstations, refilling tires and gas tanks, ensuring batteries remain charged, and cleaning vehicles to maintain dealership standards. Additionally, the role requires facilitating customer interactions by maintaining service drive accessibility and providing friendly greetings, assisting lube technicians, and shuttling customers and vehicles between locations.

The position demands physical endurance, as employees often work on hard surfaces and in various weather conditions, and must be capable of stooping, bending, lifting up to 70 pounds, operating various vehicle types including manual and automatic transmissions, and adhering to safety standards. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory, along with compliance with pre-employment drug testing and background checks. Knudtsen emphasizes safety and professionalism, requiring Service Porters to be prepared for a fast-paced, sometimes loud working environment with exposure to mechanical parts and chemicals.

Knudtsen provides excellent benefits for its employees, including employer-sponsored health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision for employees and their dependents, life insurance plans, paid holidays, sick pay, paid vacation, employee purchase discounts, a 401(K) Retirement Savings Plan with a 4% employer match, and opportunities for training and education assistance. This comprehensive package underlines the company's dedication to rewarding hard work and fostering career growth within its team. Prospective applicants who are customer-focused team players, preferably with dealership experience, and who meet the physical and legal requirements, will find this role a valuable opportunity to launch or advance their careers in the automotive industry at a reputable, community-minded dealership.
