Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, celebrated for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made from wholesome ingredients. With a presence across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe. This approach allows Chipotle to maintain strict quality control and uphold its food integrity standards across all locations. The company is widely respected not only for its delicious menu options but also for pioneering sustainable business practices and advancing digital and technological innovations within the food industry. Chipotle is steadfast in its mission to make better food accessible to everyone, cultivating a better world through its Food With Integrity philosophy, which avoids the use of artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Respect for diversity and inclusion is embedded in the company culture; Chipotle is an equal opportunity employer that embraces fairness and respect for all individuals, fostering a workplace environment that inspires employees to reach their full potential.

The Service Leader role at Chipotle plays an integral part in shaping the customer experience and ensuring operational excellence. This position is responsible for upholding the quality and safety of food served, training and leading restaurant crew members, and maintaining a clean and efficient service line in a fast-paced environment. Service Leaders are actively engaged in the daily functioning of the restaurant, requiring them to be on their feet while on shift and to assist with various operational tasks as needed. They help resolve food quality issues, enforce stringent food safety protocols such as hand washing and glove changes, and monitor temperature and shelf life compliance to adhere to health department standards. Customer service is a top priority, and Service Leaders work directly to resolve incidents, ensuring every guest interaction is positive. Leadership extends to managing crew breaks, overseeing shift meetings and schedules, and preparing performance reviews. Additionally, they contribute to office administrative duties including cash handling, banking, paperwork management, and ordering supplies, guaranteeing smooth back-of-house operations. The role serves as a vital stepping stone for career advancement, as Chipotle promotes from within, with the majority of management positions filled by former crew members. Service Leaders are equipped with comprehensive training and development opportunities, fostering personal and professional growth in a supportive, values-driven environment. Embracing Chipotle's philosophy and operational standards, the Service Leader is pivotal in driving the company’s mission forward while ensuring each restaurant operates safely, efficiently, and with a positive team spirit throughout the shift.
