This position involves tasks such as bussing, cleaning, and resetting tables to prepare for new guests, maintaining sanitary restrooms and hand washing stations with regular checks every half hour, and ensuring the exterior and parking areas are free from debris to uphold curb appeal.

In addition to keeping dining areas inviting and well-stocked with essentials like pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils, and ice, the Service Assistant also helps in cleaning and inspecting dishwashing machinery to guarantee health and safety standards are met consistently throughout the shift. The role requires a hands-on approach to promptly clean spills, broken dishes, and to assist with stocking deliveries while rotating perishable stock in accordance with company standards. The Service Assistant adheres strictly to Denny's Brand Standards and internal policies, while always providing prompt, courteous service and maintaining a positive team-oriented attitude.

Physical stamina and mobility are essential for this position, as the Service Assistant must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 lbs, work in varying temperature conditions including kitchen heat and walk-in freezer cold, and stand or walk for shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours. The ability to work with potentially hazardous chemicals safely, while observing all food handling health regulations, is also necessary.
