Job Description

World of Beer Bar & Kitchen (WOB) is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant and bar establishment dedicated to delivering a superior dining and craft beer experience to its patrons. We are currently seeking a professional and experienced restaurant server to join our team. This role is critical in delivering the WOB promise of "lifting customers' spirits one glass at a time." The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive, high-energy demeanor that aligns with our goal of finding fun in the moment and lifting the mood of every guest. Serving at WOB means engaging customers with knowledge and enthusiasm for our quality craft food and beverage offerings, helping them explore our extensive World of Beer selection, and ensuring their entire dining experience is enjoyable and memorable.

As a server, you will play a key role in the customer journey from greeting guests and guiding them to their tables to presenting menus and suggesting food and drink options tailored to enhance their visit. You will take and accurately relay orders to the kitchen and bar team while ensuring prompt and courteous service throughout. Checking back with customers to ensure satisfaction and swiftly addressing any issues will be part of your daily responsibilities. Additionally, you will handle payment transactions efficiently and maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand on your feet and navigate the WOB for the entirety of the shift
  • ability to carry full food and drink trays
  • ability to reach, bend, and lift 20 lbs
  • ability to retain menu product knowledge and share that with customers
  • ability to clearly communicate with customers and staff
  • flexible schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Outgoing, friendly and high energy personality and demeanor
  • friendly and accurate communication skills in handling customers in person and on the phone
  • previous experience as a server or in a customer service role preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • basic math skills for processing payments
  • knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • ability to be a contributing member of the team in sales and job tasks
  • any food or alcohol awareness certification as required within 30 days of hire
  • warm and welcoming smile

Job Duties

  • Greet customers and escort them to their tables as needed
  • present menus and answer questions about menu items
  • suggest menu items to enhance the customer experience
  • take food and drink orders from customers
  • relay orders to the kitchen and ensure that they are prepared quickly and accurately
  • serve food and beverages to customers in a timely manner
  • check back with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any issues
