Job Description

The role of a Restaurant Server is integral to our operations, focusing on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the high standards our guests expect. This position requires an individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting a friendly demeanor and positive attitude. The server will be responsible for greeting guests, presenting menus, taking and delivering food and beverage orders, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. Additionally, the server will need to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service and assist with event execution. This is a part-time to full-time position with typical workweeks ranging from 20 to 40+ hours, especially during peak event seasons. The starting pay rate is $12.14 per hour plus tips, with opportunities for benefits for full-time employees after 60 days of employment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a server or in a similar role and possess knowledge of safe food handling practices. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the restaurant's business demands. Physical stamina is also important as the position requires standing for prolonged periods and handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The Restaurant Server will adhere to company procedures and standards regarding appearance, grooming, and customer interaction while maintaining a proactive approach to customer complaints and service floor urgency. Ultimately, the server plays a vital role in fostering repeat business through exceptional service and upholding the restaurant's core values.

Job Duties

  • Maintain the highest quality and consistent customer service
  • Follow all company procedures
  • Respond proactively to customer complaints
  • Maintain professionalism and friendliness towards guests and staff
  • Report directly to the General Manager
  • Prepare tables, including laying out napkins and utensils and refilling condiments
  • Stay updated on current menu choices and communicate any menu deviations with kitchen staff
  • Direct customers to their tables and present menus
  • Suggest dishes and assist in drink selections
  • Inform customers about food preparation details and communicate special requests to kitchen staff
  • Deliver ordered items and fulfill customer needs
  • Perform suggestive selling
  • Remove courses and replenish utensils and glasses
  • Issue checks promptly and return change and receipts
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed
  • Assist with special events
  • Greet all guests warmly
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
  • Convey basic cooking technique information to guests
  • Report safety hazards and employee accidents
  • Maintain knowledge of food safety policies
  • Maintain urgency on the service floor
  • Manage service areas and side work duties
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
