Job Description

Winter Park Resort, located just 67 miles from Denver, is a premier ski resort and outdoor adventure destination known for its expansive access to 765,000 acres of public land. As the closest ski resort to a major metropolitan area, Winter Park offers guests and employees alike a unique blend of scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, and a vibrant mountain community. The resort provides countless opportunities year-round, whether for those seeking to experience their first winter season or for seasoned professionals looking to develop a lasting career in the hospitality and recreation industry. Winter Park prides itself on fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment, backed by a strong commitment to employee wellness, career growth, and guest satisfaction.

Within this dynamic environment, the Server position plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by delivering courteous, efficient, and professional food and beverage service. Working under the guidance of the Unit Manager, Servers are responsible for supporting front-of-house operations by maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere that complies with all resort policies and regulations, including health and liquor laws. The ideal candidates are team players who understand the importance of speed, accuracy, and guest engagement in a fast-paced resort setting.

This seasonal role offers a competitive starting hourly wage of $12.14 with variability depending on experience, education, and individual performance. Compensation extends beyond salary, offering a holistic rewards package including free season passes to Winter Park and all Alterra Resorts, family and friends discounts, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options for eligible employees. Beyond traditional benefits, the resort also provides additional perks such as life insurance, paid parental leave, mental health resources, a 401(k) plan with a 100% company match up to 4%, and onsite childcare when available. Employees enjoy exclusive discounts on food, beverage, retail items, equipment rentals, and pro-deals.

As a Server, you will be tasked with preparing dining areas, accurately taking and delivering orders, managing cash and credit transactions in compliance with tip reporting laws, and actively participating in daily pre-shift meetings to stay informed on specials and events. Maintaining a safe and clean environment is crucial for this role, including station stocking, restroom upkeep, and using food service equipment to assist in meal prep. Proven menu knowledge encompassing food, liquor, beer, and wine offerings is essential, as is adhering to company standards for appearance, attendance, and workplace safety.

Ideal candidates should be at least 18 years old with a minimum education level of a High School Diploma or GED. While prior front-of-house experience is preferred, it is not mandatory as TIPS certification can be obtained after employment. The position requires the ability to meet physical demands such as walking, seeing, hearing, and operating basic office machinery. Employees should expect to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes under varying weather conditions, and in settings where noise levels are usually moderate.

Winter Park Resort is committed to equal opportunity employment and encourages applications from individuals dedicated to contributing to a respectful and diverse work environment. This ongoing recruitment process ensures that interested candidates have sufficient time to apply and join the team that brings the magic of Winter Park to life each season.
