The Server position at The Gables is an integral role responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to residents, their families, and guests in a warm, courteous, and professional manner. Operating mainly from 7 am to 2:30 pm with a commitment of two days per week plus every other weekend, this part-time role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the dining experience and overall satisfaction of senior residents. The Server not only serves and clears tables but also maintains cleanliness and order in the dining areas and service stations, ensuring a tidy and appealing dining environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar food and beverage serving role preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or carry weights up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols
  • Must be free of communicable diseases that could be transmitted during job performance
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts and every other weekend

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar position desired
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
  • Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards
  • Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Serve meals and bus tables with a warm, friendly, courteous, respectful and engaging demeanor
  • Help team members and participate in setting up and breaking down dining room tables and wait stations prior to and following meals
  • Participate in the training of new team members
  • Assist with dining service for special functions, private dining events, and special guests
  • Clear tables, replace linens, set tables, and ensure that the dining room is clean and attractive
  • Clean equipment, furniture, appliances, floors, drains, storage area, refrigerator, freezer and sinks according to schedule
  • Keep the environment safe, clean, and free of clutter
  • Store and retrieve residents’ assistive devices during mealtimes, ensuring safety is never compromised
  • Participate in and attend all required in-service training and education programs as scheduled
  • Perform other duties as assigned
