The role available is for Full Time Culinary Servers in the Culinary Department. This position plays a vital part in enhancing the dining experience for residents by delivering exceptional food and beverage services with attention to detail and a warm, hospitable attitude. Serving in a full-service, A la Carte dining environment, Culinary Servers are responsible for ensuring that residents and guests enjoy their meals in a welcoming atmosphere. The position involves working 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with flexibility required to cover weekdays, evenings, and weekends as shifts vary throughout the week. The servers act as ambassadors of service excellence within the dining rooms, modeling a solutions-oriented approach and taking ownership of both routine tasks and unexpected challenges. They play a key role in safety by remaining vigilant and reporting any hazards, contributing to a secure dining environment. Team members are expected to maintain a good attendance record and adhere to scheduled work hours. Part of the duties include setting up buffet stations, serving food and beverages properly, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with special events. The role requires wearing appropriate protective gear and following established opening and closing procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene and service.   • 6 months - 1 year in A la Carte and food service industry experience
  • food handlers card is required by first day of work
  • ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • ability to be patient and gracious with residents

Job Duties

  • Provide food and beverage service in dining room
  • serve residents and guests in A la Carte, full-service atmosphere with attention to detail and hospitality
  • model a service and solutions-oriented attitude towards others, take ownership in solving problems and take initiative to make things better
  • be friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
  • ensure resident/patient, visitor, self and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
  • maintain good attendance record, arrive to work timely and conform to scheduled work hours
  • wear appropriate and assigned protective gear
  • follow opening and closing procedures including workstations
  • clean and/or pull dishes from dish room to dining area
  • complete daily cleaning according to schedule or supervisors instructions
  • assist with any special events as assigned
  • reset tables to specifications with clean pressed linen
  • fold and sort silverware and napkins for dining room
  • set-up hot buffet/salad bar/desserts/beverages/service side stations and take temperatures of food before service, clean appropriately at the end of service
  • assume other responsibilities as assigned
