The Server role is a full-time position with variable shifts and an hourly pay rate of $17.00 to $18.00. This role is essential in ensuring residents receive an outstanding dining experience marked by professionalism, courtesy, and attention to individual needs and dietary requirements. Servers at MBK Senior Living are responsible for efficiently taking orders, assisting residents with meal selections, serving meals with proper etiquette, and maintaining a clean and sanitary dining environment. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact tactfully and kindly with residents, families, and team members alike.

In this role, the Server contributes significantly to the community's overall atmosphere by fostering welcoming and inclusive dining experiences. They are also involved in supporting broader community marketing efforts through positive guest interactions and upholding grooming and dress standards. Physical stamina and the ability to handle equipment like trays and carts are vital, as is compliance with health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or have proper work permit and authorization
  • Must pass background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete health screening and provide negative TB test results within last 6 months or 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Ability to operate serving equipment
  • Ability to minimize waste and be resource mindful
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and staff
  • Must complete dining room training with CCG
  • Compliance with all state specific regulatory requirements
  • Able to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull and perform repetitive motions
  • Able to lift/carry 40+ lbs and push/pull carts
  • Must not be considered an Excluded Party as defined by government regulations
  • Must comply with HIPAA and other applicable laws and professional licensing requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in restaurant or food service environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar carts, trays, and heating carts
  • Knowledge of proper dining etiquette and customer service
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and work well with diverse populations
  • Completion of dining room training courses such as CCG
  • Ability to meet and maintain all state regulatory requirements
  • Ability to follow health and safety protocols
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors
  • Assist residents with meal/menu selections as needed or requested
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while serving tables courteously and professionally
  • Review residents dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and provide information timely
  • Greet and seat all residents properly, making efforts to integrate new residents
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary dining area complying with food handling policies
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members, and guests
  • Aid in community marketing through positive interactions and adherence to grooming standards
  • Serve, clean and reset tables, return dishes to kitchen
  • Perform clean up and setup of all dining and food service areas including stocking condiments
  • Cooperate with other kitchen and dining services to ensure a positive dining experience
  • Report any safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Executive Director designee
