The current opening is for a full-time Server position at Moss, a private members' club located at 520 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10036. Moss offers a refined yet welcoming dining experience where hospitality is thoughtful and detail-driven. The team collaborates closely, integrating culinary, beverage, and service expertise to deliver consistent excellence. The Server role is central to providing superior guest service by ensuring every dining interaction surpasses expectations.
As a Server at Moss, you will manage a designated station, acting as the primary point of contact for guests in the dining room. Your deep knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and wine selections will allow you to confidently make pairing recommendations and upsell offerings. Responsiveness to guest needs and complaints will help maintain a memorable experience. This position requires open availability to cover various shifts, including breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner from Monday through Sunday, with hours detailed upon interview.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of previous serving experience and possess exceptional communication skills. Compensation is set at a fixed pay rate of $17.00 per hour plus tips, with an employee referral bonus available internally. Job Duties
- Coordinate all floor service to deliver an excellent dining experience
- possess thorough knowledge of all menus, daily specials, and wine by the glass including pairing recommendations
- provide attentive, professional guest service by recognizing customers, anticipating needs, and resolving complaints
- maintain control of the assigned station ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and smooth communication with teammates
- upsell food and beverage offerings while supporting management in ensuring smooth service flow
- promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- follow established steps of service including safe food handling and sanitation standards
