Job Description

Delaware North Gaming is a prominent player in the hospitality and gaming industry, managing and operating a variety of entertainment and dining venues across the globe. Their operation at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York, is a vibrant destination that combines more than 1,500 video gaming machines with the excitement of live thoroughbred racing from April to November and year-round simulcast wagering on thoroughbred and harness racing from across the country. In addition to gaming and racing, Finger Lakes Gaming features multiple dining options including a spacious buffet, creating a comprehensive entertainment experience for guests.

Delaware North itself is a globally recognized family-owned company with over 100 years of history in delivering exceptional customer experiences in various industries, including sports, hospitality, gaming, and national parks. With a commitment to creating a welcoming and dynamic work environment, the company prides itself on offering employees opportunities for personal and professional growth across its extensive and diverse operations. Working for Delaware North means joining a global legacy where teamwork and service excellence are highly valued.

The part-time Server position at Finger Lakes Gaming offers a unique chance to be part of this dynamic environment. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring guests receive attentive and quality service. This position requires individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings and have a passion for hospitality. Servers are responsible for greeting guests, providing menus, taking accurate food and beverage orders, responsibly serving alcoholic beverages in compliance with policies, and processing payments using the point-of-sale system. Coordination and collaboration with other restaurant staff, including kitchen and bar personnel, are integral to providing seamless guest experiences.

This role demands commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations, including performing opening, closing, and side work duties. Physical stamina is essential, as the job involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds for extended periods. Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts is also required, reflecting the nature of the hospitality and gaming industry that operates beyond regular business hours.

Beyond the responsibilities, Delaware North Gaming provides a comprehensive benefits package to support employees' well-being. Team members enjoy weekly pay, access to training and development opportunities, employee discounts, and flexible work schedules. Eligible employees may receive health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement. These benefits demonstrate the company’s commitment to fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment.

The minimum hourly wage for this role is $14.85, not including tips, reflecting its tipped nature and the potential for additional earnings. This position is ideal for individuals with prior experience in cash handling, credit card processing, and preferably at least one year of server experience in high-volume environments. Experience with point-of-sale systems in service or hospitality settings is also highly beneficial.

Joining Delaware North Gaming at Finger Lakes means becoming part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences, fostering personal growth, and contributing to the legacy of a respected global company.
