Job Description

The Server position is a crucial role within our restaurant. Servers act as the primary point of contact between guests and the kitchen and bar teams, ensuring that each guest receives prompt, attentive, and courteous service. This role involves welcoming guests, presenting menus, taking precise orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. Servers also handle cash and credit transactions through our POS system, ensure compliance with food safety and alcohol service laws, and collaborate closely with their colleagues to maintain a seamless operation during both regular dining hours and special events.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food safety certification (may be required)
  • Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role (preferred)
  • Experience with cash handling and POS systems
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and restaurant operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to engage with guests and address their needs effectively
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism
  • Food safety certification (may be required)
  • Alcohol service certification (may be required)
  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as trays and boxes
  • Ability to work in a busy, sometimes noisy environment
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to work both indoor and outdoor environments

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Present menus and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, or specials
  • Take customer orders accurately and ensure special requests are communicated to the kitchen and bar
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and in accordance with restaurant standards
  • Ensure all food and drink orders are presented neatly and with the correct garnishes
  • Offer recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner
