Job Description
Gulf Coast Restaurant Group (GCRG) is a prominent player in the hospitality industry, managing a portfolio of establishments known for their exceptional dining experiences and commitment to customer satisfaction. As a restaurant group, GCRG operates various dining venues that prioritize quality food, excellent service, and vibrant atmospheres. The company prides itself on maintaining a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, ensuring that all employees work in an environment free from discrimination and harassment. Beyond culinary excellence, GCRG emphasizes ethical conduct, professional development, and a supportive working environment.
The role of a Server at GCRG is vital to delivering the memorable experiences that their guests expect. This position entails selling and serving food and beverages in a professional and friendly manner while adhering to all legal and company standards. Servers are responsible for managing multiple tables, accurately taking and ringing orders using restaurant POS systems, handling payments including cash and other forms, and ensuring the cleanliness and efficient operation of the restaurant. A full understanding of food and beverage preparation is essential, as is the ability to responsibly serve alcoholic beverages, including verifying the legal drinking age of guests.
Servers must be proactive in exceeding guest expectations, demonstrating excellent customer service skills, ethical behavior, and composure under stress. The role also involves performing opening and closing duties, handling cash transactions accurately, and maintaining a professional appearance and hygiene. Due to the active nature of the job, servers are frequently on their feet, moving about the restaurant, lifting items, and performing physical tasks such as clearing and resetting tables. The work environment can be loud, and the employee must be vigilant about safety risks like slips, trips, or burns.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but does require effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with guests and coordinate smoothly with colleagues and management. The role demands flexibility with work hours, as it often requires working long shifts, weekends, and holidays in order to meet the operational needs of the restaurant.
The Server position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy dynamic, fast-paced work environments where customer interaction and service quality are paramount. It is ideal for candidates with prior restaurant experience, a legal age to serve alcohol, and a passion for food and beverage service. Joining GCRG means becoming part of a team dedicated to hospitality excellence with support for continued personal and professional growth.
