Serving on the front of the house team, an individual in this role is entrusted with the essential responsibility of delivering excellent guest experiences by processing orders efficiently and accurately, working the drive-thru, managing phone-in orders, and maintaining cleanliness in various service areas including the dining room, patio, and parking lot. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, ensuring order accuracy for dine-in, to-go, and drive-thru customers, handling cash register operations with attention to sales policies, and following food safety and product safety protocols rigorously.
As a vital member of the front-line staff, the Server Cashier contributes directly to the restaurant's profitability by using independent decision-making to manage customer interactions and service flow effectively. The role also requires adherence to schedule, participation in ongoing food safety education, and proactive reporting of health, safety, and operational discrepancies to management. Physical requirements include standing and walking extensively during shifts, along with repetitive bending and lifting activities essential for stocking and service tasks. Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years
- ability to read and comprehend written instructions
- must speak, understand, take direction, read, and write in English
- present Food Handler Card as required by State or County
- able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time
- able to walk, bend, and stoop during service and stocking
- able to lift up to 40 pounds
- exposure to cleaning solvents and fumes
- availability to work full or part-time shifts
- follow all safety and operational protocols
- maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- adhere to scheduled shifts unless changes arranged
Job Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16 years
- able to read and comprehend written instructions
- able to speak, understand, take direction, read, and write in English
- able to present State or County mandated Food Handler Card within required timeframe
- high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- 0-3 years of experience in server, cashier, line cook, prep cook, or customer service roles
- understands the importance of quality guest service
Job Duties
- Provides excellent customer service before, during, and after taking orders
- greets guests upon arrival, makes eye contact, and thanks guests when leaving
- maintains a clean dining room, patio, parking lot, etc., as assigned
- successfully works the drive-thru window and phone for phone-in orders as assigned
- properly packages, checks, and delivers accurate orders to guests
- responsible for the accuracy of all orders (dine-in, to-go, and drive-thru)
- maintains stock and cleanliness of required work areas
- follows work schedules as posted unless a change is arranged with manager
- accepts and accurately processes payments using the cash register
- ensures all sales are processed according to policy
- informs manager of sales, cash, or operating discrepancies
- follows cash register policy
- proactively protects product critical control points
- immediately notifies manager of food safety risks or guest accidents
- adheres to food safety standards and procedures
- practices safe work habits and reports unsafe conditions
- reads and follows Safety Data Sheets instructions
