The role of Server Cashier at Farmer Boys is a non-exempt position available for both full-time and part-time employment, designed to support the restaurant's front-of-house operations. Serving as the first and last point of contact for guests, Server Cashiers are responsible for fostering a positive dining experience through attentive service, accuracy in order taking and payment handling, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the dining and surrounding areas. The position requires strong interpersonal communication skills to greet customers, manage orders—whether dine-in, drive-thru, or phone orders—and ensure transactions are processed efficiently and accurately. Server Cashiers at Farmer Boys play a vital role in operational success by actively engaging with guests, contributing to a smooth workflow in the restaurant, and upholding stringent food safety and quality standards. Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 16
  • ability to read and understand English
  • ability to speak, understand, and write English
  • must obtain Food Handler Card as required by state or county regulations
  • ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • must follow food safety and workplace safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience in server, cashier, line cook, or customer service role
  • ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • proficiency in English language
  • valid State or County Food Handler Card required within allowed time
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service before, during, and after taking orders
  • greet guests upon arrival and thank guests when leaving
  • maintain a clean dining room, patio, and parking lot
  • work the drive-thru window and phone orders
  • package, check, and deliver accurate orders
  • ensure accuracy of all orders delivered to guests
  • maintain stock and cleanliness of work areas
  • operate cash register and process payments
  • report sales and cash discrepancies to manager
  • follow cash handling policies
  • protect product safety and food safety standards
  • notify management of food safety risks
  • attend food safety training
  • follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • notify manager of guest accidents or injuries
  • protect company assets
  • practice safe work habits
  • read and understand safety data sheets
