Job Description
Hyatt is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to creating welcoming environments where every guest feels a true sense of belonging. With a rich legacy of turning trips into memorable journeys and jobs into lifelong careers, Hyatt continuously strives to foster an atmosphere of warmth, connection, and sustainability. The company believes in making travel more human by celebrating individuality and ensuring each role plays a vital part in the guest experience. This philosophy is evident in Hyatt's motto that hospitality is more than just a job - it is a career for individuals who genuinely care and are passionate about service excellence.
This particular opportunity is located in downtown Sacramento, California, at a recently redesigned Hyatt property that perfectly blends urban vibrancy with serene oasis-like surroundings. Positioned directly across from the sprawling 40-acre California Capitol State Park and within walking distance of key landmarks such as Capitol Mall, Crocker Art Museum, and the historic Old Sacramento Waterfront, the hotel offers guests and staff alike the perfect balance of city life and natural beauty. Guests can enjoy resort-style amenities such as the expansive pool deck, exquisite dining experiences outdoors next to warming fireplaces, and breathtaking city skyline views from their rooms.
The role available is for a Busser/Food Server Assistant. This position is seasonal, running from June 1, 2026, through September 7, 2026, and offers a competitive hourly rate of $17.75. The Busser/Food Server Assistant is an essential component of the food and beverage team, primarily responsible for assisting food servers in delivering a high standard of guest service. This role demands excellent communication skills, physical stamina for lifting, pulling, and pushing moderate weights, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with consistent guest interaction.
The job involves supporting serving staff to ensure efficient table turnover, prompt clearing and resetting of tables, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in dining areas to enhance guests' dining experiences. This role is physically active and requires team collaboration to uphold Hyatt s renowned hospitality standards. Moreover, working at Hyatt provides an enriching pathway into the hospitality industry, offering opportunities to build a career within a brand that values diverse talent and individual growth.
In addition to its dynamic work setting, Hyatt offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support and reward its colleagues. These benefits include free room nights, discounted and friends & family room rates, comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan with company match, paid vacation time, sick days, leave for new child care and personal reasons, paid family bonding time, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, complimentary colleague meals during shifts, an employee stock purchase plan, and retail discounts with popular brands like Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and Headspace. Hyatt is firmly committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring fair employment consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
