The role of Food and Beverage Server is an essential position within the Sheraton Phoenix location, representing the face of quality hospitality and attentive service. This is a full-time, non-management role based at 340 N 3rd St, Phoenix, Arizona. The Food and Beverage Server plays a crucial part in maintaining the brand's exceptional standards by providing courteous, efficient, and professional food and beverage service to all guests.

This position involves multiple responsibilities, including setting up and cleaning tables, serving water, bread, and coffee, and greeting guests warmly, ideally addressing them by name when possible. The server is expected to ensure smooth operations by stacking trays properly, following safety standards, and performing daily closing tasks such as storing reusable items, cleaning equipment and workstations, replenishing supplies, and completing cleanliness checklists.

Moreover, the Food and Beverage Server must maintain a high level of hygiene and presentation. They are responsible for inspecting all porcelain, glassware, and silverware before use, sustaining cleanliness throughout the workday, and complying with health and safety standards. They keep work areas orderly and practice proper cleaning procedures consistently.

Job Duties

  • Provide professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests
  • Clean and set up tables accurately and perform general cleaning tasks related to food service
  • Serve water, bread, and coffee and greet guests by name whenever possible
  • Stack trays properly for efficient bussing and ensure safety standards are met at all times
  • Complete closing duties including storing reusable items, breaking down materials, cleaning equipment and areas, replenishing items, turning off lights, locking refrigerators, and completing daily cleaning checklists
  • Maintain and set the work areas, inspect the cleanliness and presentation of porcelain, glass, and silverware before use
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the day, follow proper cleaning procedures, and comply with health and safety standards
  • Adhere to company safety policies, maintain a clean and professional appearance, handle confidential information, and protect company assets
  • Welcome and attend to all guests, anticipate and meet guest service needs, and express gratitude sincerely
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, support collective goals, communicate clearly and professionally
  • Read and visually verify information from various sources
  • Perform physical activities including standing, sitting, walking for long periods, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, navigating uneven surfaces and stairs, and other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors
