The outdoor dining complex at Harrison's Landing is designed to accommodate large groups and multiple zones, allowing guests to choose from various seating options while enjoying the beautiful Texas Gulf Coast weather. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our outdoor dining team at Harrison's Landing. This role is pivotal in delivering top-notch service in a dynamic and high-volume outdoor setting. The Server will be responsible for ensuring an outstanding guest experience by warmly welcoming patrons, efficiently managing orders, and maintaining the cleanliness and flow of their assigned dining section. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. The role also requires resilience and adaptability as it involves working under varied weather conditions, including heat and occasional inclement weather, with proactive adjustments to the dining setup as needed.

This position is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, offering flexible schedules including peak weekend and evening shifts. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a server in a high-volume restaurant setting preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment during high-temperature summer shifts
  • Constant walking and standing across multiple dining levels and large outdoor areas
  • Occasional lifting of high-chair units or moving lightweight patio furniture
  • Proficiency in a Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Experience with Toast POS is a strong asset
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Food Handlers Certificate and a current TABC
  • Must be available for a flexible schedule, including peak weekend and evening shifts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

Job Duties

  • Warmly welcome guests
  • Clearly communicate menu items and daily specials
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance the dining experience and increase check averages
  • Accurately take and input food and beverage orders using Toast POS system
  • Ensure clear communication with the kitchen and bar teams
  • Manage assigned section efficiently with pre-bussing and table maintenance
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks adhering to all local laws
  • Ensure timely refills for guests
  • Assist with weather-related logistics such as seating adjustments and the Weather Pivot
  • Ensure continuous guest comfort during sudden outdoor condition changes
