Job Description

Marriott International is a globally renowned hospitality company known for its diverse portfolio of hotels and resorts. With a strong presence in numerous countries, Marriott International is dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences through its commitment to quality and service excellence. Within this expansive framework, Renaissance Hotels represents the spirited and adventurous side of the brand, aiming to immerse guests in the unique culture and vibrancy of the neighborhoods they visit. Located at 6677 Sea Harbor Dr, Orlando, Florida, the property seeks a dynamic and motivated Group Sales Manager to join their team in a full-time managerial capacity. This role offers an hourly pay range between $47.12 and $62.02, alongside bonus eligibility, which reflects the company's recognition of performance and dedication.

The Group Sales Manager acts as the pivotal liaison for group sales on-property, focusing on fulfilling business within pre-defined peak room parameters for property sales. This position is essential to maximizing group revenue by actively engaging with potential clients, negotiating contracts, and closing deals that align with the property's goals. The role extends beyond sales to include conducting site inspections and ensuring the smooth transition of business to operations, thereby guaranteeing high-quality service delivery. In this capacity, the manager not only drives business success but also champions the brand’s service strategy and initiatives, fostering customer loyalty through service excellence.

The candidate will manage sales activities by responding promptly to group and catering opportunities, understanding the competitive market landscape, and positioning the property effectively against rivals. Creative negotiation skills and the ability to upsell are critical to maximizing each business opportunity. Collaboration is also a key element; partnering with area sales teams and other off-property channels ensures a unified and comprehensive approach toward achieving revenue targets. The Group Sales Manager plays a strategic role in developing revenue and operational budgets and contributes to forecasting efforts, enabling the local management team to craft effective group sales and marketing plans.

Another significant aspect of the role is relationship building. This includes strengthening connections with existing clients and cultivating new business opportunities through sales calls, entertainment, familiarization trips, and trade shows. Building community ties further expands the customer base and enhances group and catering sales potential. Close work with Event Management and Operations departments ensures that customer experiences exceed expectations, addressing any concerns promptly and maintaining loyalty.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED coupled with at least four years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or related fields. Alternatively, a two-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a similar discipline, along with two years of relevant experience, is acceptable. Experience in large group sales is preferred, underscoring the importance of handling substantial and complex group business effectively.

Marriott International prides itself on its inclusive work environment where diversity of background, talent, and perspectives is celebrated. This position requires someone who is not only skilled in sales but also passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and building long-lasting relationships. By joining Renaissance Hotels, the candidate embarks on a career path within one of the world’s most respected hospitality brands, receiving support and opportunities to grow and excel. The role promises a rewarding experience where one can 'be' where they perform their best work, 'begin' their purpose, 'belong' to an amazing global team, and 'become' the best version of themselves.
