Job Description

Amazon.com Services LLC is a global leader in e-commerce and cloud computing, dedicated to delivering unparalleled customer experience through innovation and operational excellence. The company operates a vast network of fulfillment centers, offering a diverse range of products and services to millions of customers worldwide. Amazon prioritizes health, safety, and well-being above all else, creating a work environment where Associates can thrive in safety and comfort. Amazon is committed to maintaining strict compliance with all local, regional, and federal regulations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through lean principles and kaizens. The company invests heavily in its people, empowering teams with the tools, training, and leadership opportunities necessary to foster growth and operational success.

The Senior Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager role at Amazon is a critical leadership position responsible for partnering with regional operations teams to execute WHS policies and ensure full compliance with applicable regulations. This role involves leading continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing conditional and ergonomic risks, thereby promoting a healthy and safe working environment for all Amazon Associates. The position requires strong communication skills to effectively influence change, build trust, and provide clear, data-driven safety assessments to cross-functional teams. The Senior Regional WHS Manager will also be instrumental in training operations leadership and site WHS professionals, developing their capabilities in company safety standards, and applying comprehensive safety knowledge in operations environments.

In addition to regulatory oversight and risk management, the Senior Regional WHS Manager will oversee the development and mentorship of a team of safety managers and professionals. This includes creating leadership development plans, providing consistent feedback, and evaluating talent to ensure the preparedness of the WHS team for current and future business needs. The role demands a hands-on approach with frequent site visits to seek input from Associates and leadership, thereby identifying opportunities for program enhancements and ensuring open communication about safety progress and resolutions. This leadership role is crucial in advancing Amazon's mission to provide an injury-free workplace through data-driven decision-making, targeted Kaizen events, and comprehensive safety training programs.

Amazon offers competitive compensation packages, including a base salary ranging approximately between $126,700 and $246,400 annually depending on location and experience. The package includes sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units (RSUs), and a rich benefits program covering medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, alongside life and disability insurance, mental health support, adoption and surrogacy reimbursements, and retirement benefits such as 401(k) matching. The company embraces an inclusive culture that values diversity and equal opportunity, ensuring all employees receive the necessary accommodations for a seamless hiring process. This role requires up to 50% travel, physical ability to manage typical warehouse activities, and flexibility in work schedules including nights and weekends when necessary. Candidates with a Master’s degree, Certified Safety Professional certification, and prior experience in dynamic, fast-paced organizations will find this opportunity particularly rewarding for long-term career development within Amazon's global network.
