ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is a distinguished leader in the engineering consulting industry, founded in 1988 with a mission to elevate the standards of professional engineering consulting services. Over the years, ECS has developed a robust reputation for excellence in geotechnical, construction materials, environmental, and facilities consulting. The company prides itself on being employee-owned, supporting a workforce of more than 3,000 employees distributed across over 100 offices and testing facilities nationwide. This extensive network allows ECS to deliver localized service with national reach, ensuring high standards and tailored solutions to their clients' unique needs.
ECS has been consistently recognized within the industry for its outstanding contributions and is currently ranked #60 in the Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms (April 2026), #148 in the Top 200 Environmental Firms (October 2025), and #50 on Zweig Group's Hot Firm List (May 2025). These accolades underscore ECS's commitment to innovation, quality, and client satisfaction. The firm fosters a collaborative working environment that encourages technical excellence, leadership development, and career growth opportunities for its staff.
The role of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Project Engineer at ECS is a pivotal position that demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex projects from inception through completion. The successful candidate will assume full accountability for project success, including ensuring technical quality, managing client relationships, overseeing financial performance, and guiding team execution. This leadership position involves mentoring junior staff, supporting staffing decisions, and actively contributing to business development and client relationship growth.
Responsibilities include leading and managing construction materials testing projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all project tasks, overseeing report reviews, and resolving technical and administrative issues. The Senior Project Engineer will also manage project budgets, invoicing, and collections, prepare and review proposals and change orders, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Hosting and participating in project meetings to present findings and solve problems, providing technical oversight to ensure quality deliverables, and mentoring junior staff are also integral duties. Additionally, the role supports resource allocation across projects and marketing efforts to enhance client relationships and grow the business.
This position requires a highly organized and technically proficient individual who can juggle multiple priorities in a consulting environment while maintaining a customer-focused approach aligned with ECS’s core values. The Senior Project Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining ECS's reputation for exemplary service and technical excellence, contributing to ongoing growth and success in the construction materials testing sector. This is a full-time role that offers the opportunity to work within a well-established, respected engineering firm recognized for its commitment to quality and employee ownership. Candidates will find a career path rich with challenge, leadership potential, and the chance to make a tangible impact on high-profile infrastructure and construction projects across the country.
