Job Description

Penske Logistics is a global leader in transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions, dedicated to helping businesses optimize their supply chains and improve operational efficiency. With a presence across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Penske Logistics provides comprehensive and innovative logistics services to market-leading companies. The company focuses on increasing visibility, driving down costs, and delivering measurable business results through its state-of-the-art technologies and experienced workforce. Known for its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, Penske Logistics values its associates by offering excellent benefits and opportunities for growth within a supportive work environment. The primary location for this role is in Easton, Pennsylvania, at 170 Commerce Lane, and it is part of the logistics and supply chain operations family within the company. This position is classified under full-time employment with regular, predictable attendance as an essential function of the job.

The role of Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics is pivotal in ensuring seamless daily logistics and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership to both individual contributors and the hourly workforce, overseeing critical functions such as driver deliveries, trailer loading and unloading, cross-docking activities, and customer service operations. This role directly supervises processes including workforce scheduling and equipment utilization, maintaining a strong focus on executing tasks in alignment with company service standards and cost objectives. The Operations Supervisor will also play a key role in workforce management by participating in the hiring process, conducting interviews, monitoring performance metrics including attendance and productivity, and making corrective or disciplinary decisions up to written warning level.

Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility required during peak seasons, holidays, or times of staffing shortages to meet business needs effectively. This role demands strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams and functions to meet customer goals and maintain operational compliance. Key responsibilities include supervising all aspects of logistics operations such as customer service, freight handling, dispatch, and documentation control. The supervisor will evaluate work methods and recommend changes to increase productivity while ensuring that all financial policies, inventory controls, and safety regulations are strictly followed. Additionally, this position requires managing labor costs by monitoring associates’ work hours and activities to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.

Safety is a top priority, with the supervisor responsible for aligning daily management and activities with the location’s safety strategy and providing training and feedback to ensure safe performance. The role also involves understanding and supporting customer-specific goals, fostering continuous improvement efforts to enhance service quality, and planning effective use of fleet and warehouse equipment. The Operations Supervisor must have a thorough knowledge of the site’s operating systems to ensure compliance and accurate resolution of exceptions. The job may include travel as necessary and requires submission to background checks and drug screenings. Overall, the Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics is an essential leader who drives operational excellence, supports associate development, and contributes significantly to customer satisfaction and business growth.
